Ads, Software, and Conversion
The story is that I wanted to try out the Crossover Games product to see how it preformed. So as expected I hoarded out my email address to try it legally. To my surprise it actually ran Steam remarkably well (notably TF2). Much better than running it in VMware Fusion. My only few sour points of the product were the minor sound issues (I run digital out of my mac) and some mouse tracking issues....

Money in Culture
It is not often that something is done just for love anymore. You can call it a product of this society, where being happy is just not enough. In fact, it’s expected to boast about status about how many toys you have. Another article that highlights on how the music industry is typically run. What even more facinating is how the internet is changing the entire game. More and more creatives are just doing it on their own, intead of siging the lives away. This reminds me of a rant Gary Vaynerchuk did on Howard Stern’s thoughts on social media. Interesting.

“For every 100 copies of a physical book we sell, where we have the Kindle...”
– Jeff Bezos (via marco) UPDATE: Further down in the story is another intresting tidbit.. BEZOS: Basically you submit the book, you set the price for it, we charge the customer and then we give you 35 percent of the revenue. NYTIMES: And Amazon keeps 65 percent? That sounds like a lot. BEZOS: Does...

Book Review: Total Recall by Gordon Bell and Jim Gemmell (Read Via Physical Book) My interest in this book was triggered by a post from Steven Frank, one of the founders of one of my favorite software companies Panic. For the review, I am going to re-blog his post because is pretty much spot on. stevenf: I just finished reading Total Recall (also on Kindle) (affiliate links, y’all) The...
